Strengthening Cooperation with Xinjiang University in Science and Education

From October 29 to November 2, 2025, at the official invitation of the Institute of International Cultural Exchange and the Department of International Cooperation of Xinjiang University (Urumqi, PRC), Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs E. Imangaliyev paid a working visit to the People’s Republic of China.
The purpose of the visit was to strengthen bilateral academic ties, organize student and staff exchanges, develop joint educational programs, and expand cooperation in scientific research. 
On October 31, the official opening of the seminar «Structure of International Chinese Language Education and International Cooperation in Academic Exchanges»  took place in the academic hall of the library at the Honghu (Red Lake) campus of Xinjiang University.
During the opening ceremony, E. Imangaliyev delivered a welcoming speech, highly appreciating the friendly relations between Kazakhstan and China and expressing interest in further deepening cooperation in education and science.
After the seminar, an official meeting was held with Vice-Rector of Xinjiang University, Mr. Jin Gang. The parties agreed to launch academic mobility programs for students and teaching staff, develop joint educational programs in language training, engineering, and IT, implement scientific projects, and support academic exchanges. The Chinese side also expressed its readiness to visit Shymkent with a working delegation in 2026. 
As part of the visit, meetings were held with Mr. Nakyraman Ibrahim, Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, the Deans of the Faculties of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Geology and Mining, as well as the Director of the Institute of International Cultural Exchange.
The discussions focused on coordination of educational programs, internships for teaching staff, organization of scientific practice for master’s and doctoral students. 
On November 1, 2025, E. Imangaliyev visited the Engineering Training Centre of the “Top Engineer” College at the Boda campus. The Vice-Rector was introduced to the work of the 3D printing laboratory, CNC machine workshops, special processing areas, casting facilities, industrial robotics, welding robots, and innovative engineering laboratories. He met with the college’s best students and highly appreciated the practice-oriented model of engineering and industrial education. 
This working visit contributed to strengthening the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China in the field of higher education, enhanced the university’s international status, and opened new opportunities for students and academic staff.
