Key Information about the Laboratory
Research Laboratory “Design, Manufacturing and Certification of Electric Vehicles, Other Electric Transport and Charging Devices” conducts planning of organizational, fundamental and applied scientific research, design and engineering work, as well as provides services for the modernization of electric vehicles and the development of new charging devices.
Activities of the Laboratory
- Development of new models of charging devices and innovative solutions aimed at improving their efficiency, safety, and driving range.
- Creation and production of pilot prototypes and small-scale batches.
- Development of fast-charging devices for electric vehicles.
- Modernization of electric vehicles and development of energy-efficient charging devices.
- Testing of products for compliance with technical regulations (Technical Regulations of the Customs Union and Technical Regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union).
- Laboratory testing to verify parameters such as voltage and safety.
Main Objectives of the Laboratory
- implementation of the Quality Policy and Quality Objectives of SKU;
- fulfillment of quality-related obligations and requirements of the quality management system;
- planning, organization, coordination and control of scientific research, design and engineering, scientific-production and innovation activities of the Laboratory in accordance with the main development priorities of the university;
- development of the laboratory’s thematic R&D plan based on government orders for fundamental research and applied developments in the field of modernization of electric vehicles and charging devices;
- development, production and certification of electric vehicles, electric vehicle components and charging devices, including scientific research, creation of new technologies and confirmation of conformity of products with applicable technical regulations and standards;
- conducting scientific research aimed at improving technologies in the field of electric vehicle engineering and charging devices;
- application of new developments in real production and market practices, as well as transfer of innovations to related fields.
Research Aim
- Increasing energy efficiency, reducing operating temperatures, and improving the performance of electrode and cathode materials.
- Conducting tests, measurements and diagnostics to verify compliance with regulatory documents and safety standards.
- Conformity assessment: testing new, repaired or upgraded charging devices before commissioning and comparing their performance with regulatory requirements.
Expected Results
- Development of new and improvement of existing technologies: the laboratory will engage in creating more efficient batteries, energy management systems and charging devices.
- Research will be aimed at increasing charging speed and developing new charging methods, including wireless charging.
