Museum
The museum's history dates back to 1983. Following the merger of SKTU and SKSU into M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University in 1998, a decision was made to merge the two museums. In 2003, the museum underwent a full renovation in line with modern requirements and was given a space on the ground floor of the main building, featuring a unique design. Renowned architect Malik Sapargaliyev developed the design project. Overall, the museum is a specialised, modern, capsule-shaped building.
The museum houses more than 5,000 historical exhibits, including:
*Information about renowned scientists, professors, and associate professors who made significant contributions to the development of higher technical and pedagogical education in the region;
*Collections of academic disciplines studied by students at different times and their teaching methodologies;
*Data on distinguished graduates of the university from various years;
*Collections of rare books such as “Islam and the Modern World,” “Building Americas,” “Precious Heritage,” “Saint Petersburg,” “About Turkey,” and “Sozak Land”;
*A special corner featuring traditional Kazakh yurts and household items, creating an authentic cultural atmosphere that allows visitors to deeply experience national traditions, craftsmanship, and daily life.
Visitors can also explore exhibits through two interactive touchscreen displays. On average, around 6,000 people visit the museum annually, including guests from Kazakhstan and abroad, intellectuals, scholars, students, and school pupils.
