The Day of State Symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan was celebrated with a solemn flag-raising ceremony and a festive gathering at Square in our city.
The event was attended by the Akim of Shymkent, Gabit Syzdykbekov; representatives of the academic community and veterans; and the Vice-Rector for Social and Educational Affairs and Board Member of M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University, Gani Besbayev, as well as students. Over 500 students from our university participated in the celebrations to demonstrate their respect for the national symbols.
During the ceremony, the history of the state symbols was presented and patriotic songs were performed. The performances by young people were particularly inspiring — their voices lifted the spirit and highlighted the significance of these national emblems.
On 4 June 1992, the state symbols of independent Kazakhstan were officially adopted for the first time. Since 4 June 2007, this date has been celebrated annually as the Day of State Symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
