“Law and Order”: Drug Crime Prevention Measures Discussed at M. Auezov University

An informational and educational meeting was held at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University with students of the Faculty of Law, joined by representatives of the Shymkent Transport Prosecutor's Office. The focus of the discussion was the prevention of drug-related crimes.
During the session, the students learned about the legal responsibility for the use and distribution of illegal substances, as well as the serious consequences such actions may lead to.
There was a particularly strong response to the live-streamed court hearing broadcast via Zoom from the Karaganda Regional Court. The case involved a 19-year-old charged with a serious drug offence. This real-life example clearly illustrated how a single poor decision can destroy one’s future.
Prosecutors emphasised that the pursuit of easy money often carries serious risks. Students were reminded of the importance of legal awareness, personal responsibility and making informed, conscious choices in life.
