From 8 to 10 October 2025, the 'Agritech Turkestan & Growtech Shymkent' exhibition and the 'Sharua-2025' seminar-conference were held in Shymkent, organised by the Shymkent City Administration.

This major international agricultural event brought together representatives of leading companies from Turkey, the Netherlands, China, Russia and Uzbekistan. Scholars from M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University also participated in the exhibition.

The event aimed to achieve the strategic objectives set out in President K. Tokayev’s 2025 Address: diversifying agriculture, strengthening food security and improving the competitiveness of domestic producers in the market economy.

At the opening ceremony, Aydyn Karimov, the First Deputy Mayor of Shymkent, highlighted the event's strategic and practical importance for the regional economy.

The exhibition's primary purpose was to showcase innovative agricultural solutions, modern equipment, greenhouse farming technologies, irrigation systems, and crop production methods, as well as to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and foster partnerships between domestic and foreign enterprises.

The university was represented by B. M. Smailov, Director of the Department of Science and Entrepreneurship; A. K. Dikanbayeva, Head of Division; and A. Ye. Ortayev. They familiarised themselves with the modern agrochemical products, types of fertiliser and plant protection technologies presented by foreign and local companies alike.

During the event, the university’s researchers presented their scientific projects and intellectual property developments to business representatives, discussing prospects for future partnerships and joint research projects.
