A legal clinic opens at Auezov University

Today, following an initiative of the Shymkent justice authorities, the Department of Civil Law and Civil Procedure at the Faculty of Law of South Kazakhstan University, named after M. Auezov, hosted the grand opening of a Legal Clinic.
In attendance were the Head of the Shymkent Department of Justice, A. Isabekova; the Chairman of the Bar Association, S. Baimuratov; the Chair of the Notary Chamber, G. Djunusbekova; the Chair of the Regional Chamber of Private Bailiffs, M. Abdibai; and faculty members and students.
The First Vice-Rector of the university, Candidate of Legal Sciences and Associate Professor, Kurmangali Sarykulov, congratulated the participants on the opening of the clinic, highlighting its importance.
“'The Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan states: “Everyone has the right to receive qualified legal assistance.” The new clinic, established jointly with the justice authorities, will provide students with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of professional legal assistance, apply their theoretical knowledge in practice and take part in joint research projects," said K. Sarykulov.
The Legal Clinic will focus on four main objectives: improving legal literacy, developing practical skills, providing career guidance and conducting research, as well as strengthening partnerships.
Following the opening ceremony, Auezov University and the Shymkent justice authorities signed a memorandum of cooperation.
