On May 12, 2025, at the International Exhibition Center of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (PRC), the delegation of Auezov South Kazakhstan University, headed by Chairman of the Board – Rector Darkhan Akhmed-Zaki, participated in the China-Central Asia Conference on Cooperation in Production, Education, Scientific Research and Application – 2025.

The large-scale international event was chaired by Ma Xingrui, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Xinjiang Committee, and Huai Jinpeng, Minister of Education of the PRC and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Welcome speeches were delivered by: Minister of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan S.Nurbek, Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus A.Ivanets, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan K. Sharipov.

A key outcome of the conference was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Auezov South Kazakhstan University and Yili Normal University (PRC). The agreement lays the foundation for academic exchange, joint programs, and collaborative research initiatives between the two universities.

As part of the visit, the delegation also took part in the educational exhibition «Study in China, Study in Xinjiang», which gathered leading universities of the region and representatives from five Central Asian countries. The event provided a platform for strengthening academic ties and exploring further cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
