The Faculty of Law at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University today hosted the official opening ceremony of the ‘Future Prosecutor’s Space’ office. This initiative was launched to enhance cooperation between institutions of higher education and prosecutorial authorities.
Guests at the event included the Head of the Personnel Department of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr Ernur Zeyneshuly; the First Deputy Prosecutor of Shymkent, Mr Zhomart Nurgaliuly; the Acting First Vice-Rector of the University, Mr Kurmangali Sarykulov; and faculty members and students.
The “Future Prosecutor’s Space” office has now been established in eight universities across the country. It is equipped with all the necessary resources, including materials on the history of the prosecution service, specialised journals, scholarly works by practitioners and methodological guides. These resources are intended to support the professional development of students and provide them with a deeper understanding of the prosecutor’s role and responsibilities,” said Mr Ernur Zeyneshuly.
During the visit, representatives of the prosecution service invited students to consider a career in the field and provided an overview of its key regulations. They also noted that more than 80 Auezov University graduates are currently working successfully in prosecutorial positions across Kazakhstan.
As part of the visit, the guests took a tour of the Faculty of Law’s courtroom simulation hall and forensic training facility.
Since 1998, the Faculty of Law has been training students in jurisprudence and has consistently trained qualified legal professionals. Today, the faculty has a student population of nearly 2,000, supported by a dedicated team of 120 professors and lecturers. Based on signed memorandums of cooperation, the faculty actively collaborates with the courts, the police department, the prosecutor’s office, the bar association, the notary chamber, the Department of Justice, and judicial enforcement agencies in Shymkent and throughout the country.
