On April 23, 2025, Darkhan Akhmed-Zaki, Rector of M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University, paid an official visit to Lawrence Technological University (LTU, USA), where he met with the University President, Prof. Tarek M. Sobh.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed prospects for expanding collaboration in the fields of higher education and scientific research. As a result of the talks, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed, aimed at strengthening international academic cooperation between the two institutions.

Under the memorandum, the universities intend to pursue a range of key initiatives, including the establishment of an Innovation Center and the development and implementation of joint and dual-degree programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels. These programs will cover disciplines such as architecture and design, natural and social sciences, business, information technology, engineering, and health sciences.

The memorandum also provides for academic exchange programs, professional development opportunities for faculty members, joint research initiatives, and scholarship support for students.

The signing of the memorandum marks an important milestone in the ongoing internationalization efforts of M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University. It opens new avenues for faculty and students to engage in academic mobility, participate in international educational initiatives, and collaborate on research projects at the global level.
