Kairat Azimov

Member of the Board and Vice-Rector for International Cooperation

Kairat Azimov was born on 2 June 1986 in the Suzak district of the South Kazakhstan region.

He graduated secondary school in 2004 and was enrolled at Cairo University in the Arab Republic of Egypt and Kazakh National Pedagogical University, where he studied Economics and Political Science in 2008.

2013-2015 he studied International Relations at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of foreign affairs of the Russian Federation.

2008 – 2011 Attaché in the Department of Asia and Africa.

2011 – 2014 Third and then Second secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Russian Federation.

2015 – 2018 Second and then First secretary at the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Dubai (UAE).

2019 – 2020 President of the Corporate charity organisation «Waqyp Kazakhstan Fund».

2020 – 2021 Deputy head of the Department of Culture and Sports of Nur-Sultan city and then Deputy Mayor of the «Almaty district» of Nur-Sultan city.

2021-2023 Head of the Department of Investment and Export in the Turkistan Region.

Since 2023, CEO of «Qonayev Academic Campus management» LLC.

As of 6 May 2025, he is a Member of the Board and Vice-Rector for International Cooperation at the «Mukhtar Auezov South Kazakhstan University».
