Visit of the French Ambassador to M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University

On November 24, 2025, M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University hosted the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of France to Kazakhstan, Sylvain Gauthier. The French delegation also included the Consul General of France, Maxime Gerenge, and international expert Agnès Busse.
During the meeting, prospects for expanding cooperation with the University of Poitiers in the fields of higher education, science, and cultural projects were discussed. Zhadira Shymbergen, a student of the Department of International Relations and International Law, gave a presentation titled “Université du Sud-Kazakhstan portant le nom de M. Auezov”, highlighting the university’s key achievements.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to strengthen cooperation in academic mobility, faculty and student exchange, guest lectures, joint supervision of doctoral students, as well as to support the initiatives of the French Alliance.
On behalf of the French Alliance of Shymkent, Ms. Zhumagul Abdullina, Director of the French Alliance of Shymkent, was awarded the Order of the Knight of Academic Palms. The award ceremony was conducted by His Excellency, the Ambassador of France to Kazakhstan, Mr. Sylvain Gauthier.
