“Digital Traps on the Internet”: Cybersecurity Lectures Held for Students

M. Auezov University recently hosted a series of specialised lectures as part of the 'Law and Order' initiative. The lectures focused on two key topics: 'How to Stay Safe Online' and 'Deepfakes and Emerging Threats'.
These sessions were organised in accordance with the guidelines set out in the Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the objectives established by the Financial Monitoring Agency’s leadership.
With support from the Department of Economic Investigations in Shymkent, the event aimed to enhance students' digital literacy and awareness of online risks.
During the lectures, experts shared practical advice on how to protect oneself from online scams, safeguard personal data, create strong social media passwords, and avoid suspicious links.
Students also had the opportunity to watch an educational video created with the help of artificial intelligence, and to complete a follow-up questionnaire, demonstrating their genuine interest in the topic and their active engagement.
