As part of the "Festival of Working Professions", the university hosted the "Skills & Taste Hackathon", aimed at facilitating direct communication between employers and students, and developing the essential soft skills necessary for the successful employment of future professionals.
Organised by the Centre for Employment and Competence Development, the event brought together student teams from various university faculties.
The main goal of the hackathon was to conduct an in-depth analysis of topics proposed by employers and develop creative solutions.
Ernar Imangaliyev, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, welcomed the participants, highlighting the importance of the hackathon for students and wishing all teams success.
Participants presented their projects and delivered presentations on the following topics:
“Soft skills: how to develop them from university years?”
"Creating a successful CV and professional portfolio: building a personal brand" and "Confident self-presentation at interviews and stress management".
The presentations were evaluated by a jury composed of employers, including:
K. Zh. Mamytov, Deputy Director for Technology at Shymkent Chemical Company LLP.
Zh. E. Baytelieva, Director of the Janna Eltanova Fashion House;
N. S. Karakulov, Production Director at Bal Decor LLP;
D. T. Ateev, Technical Director at AsiaTrafo LLP;
M. A. Omar, founder of the Alicake_kz confectionery chain.
The jury carefully assessed the relevance of the ideas, the clarity of the proposals, the level of creativity and the participants' presentation skills. Based on these criteria, the teams that presented the most comprehensive and innovative solutions were recognised as the winners. The possibility of implementing the best projects in practice was also discussed.
