Chairman of the Board -Rector Darkhan Ahmed-Zaki Met with the Administration of Xi’an Jiaotong University

As part of the visit to the People's Republic of China, the Chairman of the Board–Rector of South Kazakhstan University named after M. Auezov Dr. Darkhan Akhmed-Zaki, held a meeting with the leadership of Xi’an Jiaotong University, one of China’s top technical universities.
Xi’an Jiaotong University and Auezov University are strategic partners, with close cooperation covering academic mobility, joint educational programs, and scientific research initiatives.
During the meeting, Vice President of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Professor Shan Zhixu, expressed gratitude to Dr. Akhmed-Zaki for his visit and his initiative to strengthen bilateral cooperation. He proposed several concrete steps to enhance the partnership, including:
- Allocating 5 priority places for Auezov University students to attend the Future Leaders in AI Summer Camp;
- Offering 5 places for outstanding students in mid- and long-term academic exchange programs (3/6/12 months) at the undergraduate and graduate levels in 2025;
- Granting 5 priority places for master's and PhD admission in 2026, with potential scholarship support, tuition discounts, dormitory housing, and medical insurance.
The meeting also covered prospects for launching dual-degree programs, joint research activities, and active cooperation under the «Belt and Road» initiative and within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The visit marked an important step in strengthening strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China and enhancing the international presence of Auezov South Kazakhstan University.
