On May 13, 2025, the Honghu campus of Xinjiang University (PRC) hosted the University Forum-Conference of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) University 2025, which brought together the heads of leading universities from SCO member countries.

The event was organized by: The Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China (leading institution); The Secretariat of the SCO University (PRC);Xi’an Jiaotong University and Xinjiang University (executing organizers).

Conference theme: «Digitalization of Learning, Sustainable and Long-Term Development, Integration of Industry and Education».

University rectors from SCO countries delivered speeches and shared innovative approaches to the transformation of higher education in the context of digitalization and integration with industry.

Chairman of the Board – Rector of Auezov South Kazakhstan University Darkhan Akhmed-Zaki, served as moderator of the plenary session and emphasized the importance of international cooperation, sustainable development and intellectual transformation of universities.

Forum participants presented leading educational and technological practices: Development of a «smart campus» at Beijing University; Application of artificial intelligence in teaching at Tsinghua University; Experience of Zhejiang, Fudan, Harbin Polytechnic, Nanjing, and Shanghai Jiaotong universities, As well as other SCO universities actively engaged in digital transformation and sustainable education.

For Auezov University, participation in this forum holds strategic importance. As an active member of the SCO, the university is committed to strengthening international academic relations, sharing advanced knowledge and developing next-generation educational solutions.
