Teacher, scholar, and true leader. These qualities are embodied by Evgeny Iosifovich Shabanov, Associate Professor in the Department of General History and Museum Issues at the Faculty of History and Pedagogy at South Kazakhstan University named after M. Auezov and a candidate of historical sciences, who recently celebrated his 70th birthday. His jubilee was honored at the university in a solemn ceremony with the participation of faculty, colleagues with whom he has shared a life and a career in science, as well as his pupils and students from across the country.

The Acting Chairman of the Board and University Rector, Gani Besbaev, congratulated Evgeny Iosifovich, who has dedicated his life to education and science. There were also congratulatory letters from the leading scientists of the country, Senator of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Satyvaldiev, heads of educational institutions, and foreign colleagues joined with congratulations in an online format. Throughout the evening, kind words of gratitude were expressed for his contributions to science and the education of the younger generation.

Evgeny Iosifovich is regarded as one of the foremost experts in the region on modern history, as well as a prominent researcher in international relations in Central Asia. He is the author of approximately 15 textbooks and monographs, holds several patents, and has published more than 154 scientific articles in national and international journals.

The evening continued with beautiful performances and poetry recitals by students, creating a special atmosphere.
