Ahmed-Zaki Darkhan Zhumakanovych

Darkhan Zhumakanovych Ahmed-Zaki was born in 1981 in the East Kazakhstan Region. He graduated from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Satpayev Kazakh National Technical University.

Professional Career:

• 2002: Began his professional journey as a physics and mathematics lecturer at the Republican Medical College in Almaty.
• 2003: Worked as a software engineer at the Technological Research Center of KazakhOil JSC in Zhanaozen.
• 2004-2012: Held various academic positions at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, including assistant, lecturer, senior lecturer, associate professor, Deputy Dean for Educational and Disciplinary Affairs, and Head of the Informatics Department.
• 2012-2013: Dean of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
• 2013-2016: Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
• 2016-2017: Director of the Department of Higher and Postgraduate Education at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
• 2017-2020: President of the International Business University.
• August 2020 – October 2022: Rector of Astana IT University.
• From November 2022: Chairman of the Science Committee at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
• From September 2023: Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
• Since January 28, 2025:  Appointed as Chairman of the Board – Rector of South Kazakhstan Research University named after M. Auezov.
