Purpose of the EP

to train demanded masters of linguists-translators with digital tools in the field of foreign language (English language) teaching methods, linguistics, translation studies and intercultural communication.

Learning outcomes

LO1 Demonstrate an understanding of the general provisions of linguodidactic patterns and topical methodological and philosophical problems of pedagogy and linguistics;

LO2 Ability to analyze modern theoretical, methodological and technological achievements of education and science, theoretical and applied linguistics in the aspect of intercultural and interdisciplinary communication;

LO3 Organize the content of innovative platforms of modern foreign language education, planning and organizing research and professional activities with the provision of research results (Top 5 soft skills);

LO4 Operate digital technologies in translation studies and computational linguistics, performing automatic and computer-aided translation (electronic online dictionaries) when solving professional problems;

LO5 Independently solve professional problems, integrating the knowledge of modern scientific and theoretical views in the field of education and science, philosophical problems, linguistic theories and intercultural communication, scientific and theoretical worldviews (Top 10 Hard skills: 1,2,3);

LO6 Conduct a metalinguistic and translational analysis of technical and scientific texts through critical thinking and comparison of geneologically unrelated languages, demonstrating a professional level of communication skills in a foreign language (C2 according to CEFR); to rank the stylistic parameters of genre varieties of texts in the studied types of discourse;

LO7 Solve communication situations using fundamental psychological concepts in terms of management, apply special and fundamental knowledge to develop professional and personal potential (Top 5 Soft skills);

LO8 Propose methods of linguistic research based on theoretical knowledge in the field of linguistics and methods of foreign language education, taking into account social, ethical and scientific considerations.
