On February 25, 2021, the Ministry of Education and Science organized a meeting with PhD students, vice-rectors for scientific work and academic secretaries of universities to discuss the problems of ensuring the quality of doctoral studies and defense of doctoral dissertations.

During the meeting, Minister Aimaganbetov A.K. the problems and measures taken to improve the quality of scientific personnel training were voiced. Chairman of the Committee for Quality Assurance in Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kobenova G.I. presented the problems of PhD students at the training stage, as well as ways to solve them.

Issues of academic integrity, publications in journals included in the international databases Scopus and other databases, scientific internships, remuneration of foreign scientific consultants, new rules for admission to doctoral studies and many other issues were discussed.
