The Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (IQAA), an independent agency for quality assurance in education, organized a seminar "The role of students in external quality assurance" on February 12, 2021. On behalf of our university, undergraduates Yermek A.B. and Bahram A.S. and doctoral students Kalymbetov G.E., Karataeva M.S. and Abzhapbarov A.A.
At the seminar, the issues of ensuring by the IQAA agency the active participation of students in the process of assessing educational institutions and promoting student interests were discussed. The workshop participants were introduced to the procedures:
- Participation as a member of the external assessment expert group (Bologna Declaration 2003);
- Representation in the IQAA Accreditation Council;
- Practical advice on participating in external audit procedures;
- Assessment of compliance of the actual state of affairs in the university with IQAA Standards and accreditation criteria;
- Works of the Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (IQAA);
- Agency structure and achievements. Mission and values of the organization. Strategic priorities;
- Quality assurance system for higher education.
The seminar participants were given information about the Bologna process and the history of ESG development, about the main changes in ESG 2015, about the goals, objectives and principles of ESG, about the tasks and role of ENQA and EQARa, about the definition of accreditation and the scheme of the accreditation process, as well as about IQAA standards in new edition and student-centered teaching.
