Our University Students Earned an Honorable 3rd Place at the World Olympiad

The 6th World Student Olympiad on the Theory of Mechanisms, Machines, and Robotics (SIOMMS-2025) took place from 26 to 28 November 2025 at Satbayev University in Almaty. A team from M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University proudly took part in the competition. The team was led by Professor Darkhan Myrzaliev from the Department of Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering.
The team members were students on the 6B07124 Electromechanical Engineering and Energy Systems educational program: Akerke Kurban, Aziza Sultanmurat and Samandarhan Abzalov (group MMG-23-14k).
With the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM) and Satbayev University, the Olympiad was organised at a high international level. The competition was dynamic and highly competitive. A total of 11 teams participated, and the results were as follows:
First place: China, Russia and Romania
Second place: Spain
Third place: Kazakhstan (teams from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University)
In addition to their strong performance, our university's team and Aziza Sultanmurat, a student from the Faculty of Mechanics and Oil and Gas Engineering, received special recognition in the individual nominations category.
