The regular meeting of the Academic Council was held at the M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University. The Chairman of the Board - Rector of the University and Chairman of the Academic Council, Darkhan Zhumakanovich Akhmed-Zaki, began the meeting by honouring professors and faculty members for their achievements.

In this regard, it is important to emphasise that Professor Klara Abdirazakovna Urazbayeva, Head of the Department of Food Technology, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, received a congratulatory letter from the Chairman of the Board of Directors - Rector D. Akhmed-Zaki on the occasion of her 65th birthday. Gulnar Amirbayevna Zhanisbayeva, Head of the Centre for Personality Development and the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan and Candidate of Technical Sciences, was awarded the Jubilee Medal "30th Anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan" on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.  Akan Besbayev, Director of the Youth Centre, received a letter of appreciation from the Akim of Shymkent, Gabit Syzdykbekov, for his significant contribution to the organisation of events during the President's working visit.

In addition, young scientists G. Kaldybaeva, N. Uteuliyev, E. Tursynkulova and Yu. Popova were awarded Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees. Also, students who won prizes in national subject Olympiads and debate tournaments were awarded diplomas, badges, and certificates.

The meeting focused on three key topics:

Image Policy of the University: Current status and prospects (Speaker: S.K. Beisenbayev, Vice-Rector for Public Relations and Culture);

Use of electronic content and multimedia tools in the educational process (Speaker: B.M. Khamitova, Head of the Pedagogical and Methodological Centre);

Approval of dissertation topics for doctoral students (winter intake) (Speaker: G.M. Yelibayeva, Director of the Institute of Postgraduate Education).
