AUEZOV UNIVERSITY SCIENTIST RECEIVES AWARD FOR KAZAKHSTANI FEMALE RESEARCHERS

On March 6, 2025, the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a special award ceremony in honor of International Women's Day at the Science Committee Building in Almaty. For the first time, the prestigious prize named after Academician N. Bazanova was awarded to outstanding female scientists of Kazakhstan.

A total of 48 leading female scientists and researchers, who have made significant contributions to the advancement of science and achieved remarkable results in various fields, were honored with the N. Bazanova Award.

Among the awardees was Altyn Makhmudovna Esirkepova, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, and Head of the "Economics" Department at the Mukhtar Auezov South Kazakhstan University.

In Kazakhstan, nearly 12,000 women are actively involved in scientific research, accounting for 55.6% of the country's total scientific workforce. The number of women receiving academic degrees is increasing every year. This year alone, 848 women received the title of Doctor of Science, 2,872 received the title of Candidate of Science, and 1,806 received the title of Doctor of Philosophy.
