On November 10, 2017, delegation headed by Mr. Rolf Mafael- Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Kazakhstan visited M.Auezov South Kazakhstan State University. During the visit of the delegation, a meeting was held with the Vice-rector for educational and methodical work Sabyrkhanov Darkhan Sabyrkhanovich, where the sides exchanged opinions and proposals on further development and strengthening of SKSU cooperation with German universities.
 At the meeting with the students and faculty, Ambassador Rolf Rafael made a report "Germany and the European Union," which outlined the key stages in the history and the major economic achievements of Germany. In addition, the Director of the Information Center DAAD in Kazakhstan, Bartolomeus Minkowski, told the students about the possibilities of studying in Germany and introduced with the participation conditions in DAAD scholarship programs, director of the Goethe-Institute of Almaty Ms. Eva Schmitt briefly described about activities of the Institute for students  and about the opportunities  participating in language courses, master classes, seminars for both German teachers and students wishing to learn German.
