Turkmen students of the SKSU named after M.Auezov with the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Kazakhstan held mass cultural events dedicated to the International Day of Cyclists and World Environment Day. World Bicycle Day (World Bicycle Day), which is celebrated on June 3, was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in April 2018 (resolution 72/272). The projects for the establishment of this international date were developed on the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan G.M. Berdimuhamedov. The document was co-authored by 56 states, including the Republic of Kazakhstan. Based on and confirming the uniqueness, long history and versatility of the bicycle, which is a simple, inexpensive, reliable and acceptable mode of transport, the UN supported this proposal. And since the bicycle is the most environmentally friendly mode of transport, its use contributes to respect for the environment, maintaining health and development of sports.
On the eve of the World Environment Day, on the initiative of Turkmen students, a contest of children's drawings was announced on the theme: “Nature is our common home”. Pupils of secondary schools of Shymkent took part in it.
It should be noted that Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan in recent years have been paying particular attention to the protection of the environment and the ecology of the region. One of the acute problems in this context is the crisis of the Aral Sea. With the initiative of the First President of Kazakhstan, Elbasy - N.Nazarbayev, the International Fund for the Aral Sea was established.
Recently, at the 85th meeting of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, held on May 28, 2019, the resolution “Cooperation between the United Nations and the International Fund for the Aral Sea Saving” initiated by the President of Turkmenistan was adopted by full consensus. She co-authored 21 states. This Resolution expresses full support for the outcome of the Summit of Heads of State Founders of IFAS, held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone on August 24 last year, chaired by the Turkmen leader. This document also creates a legal framework for interaction between the UN and IFAS on a systemic basis.
Participants in the children's competition were awarded with souvenirs, and for all guests of the event a generous table with national Turkmen dishes was served.
