“Waste Reduction: A Clean City and Responsible Consumption”

Today, protecting the environment from the negative
impact of industrial and household waste, as well as fostering a culture of
responsible consumption, has become one of the most pressing challenges of
modern society. In this regard, a curatorial hour entitled “Waste
Reduction: A Clean City and Responsible Consumption” was organized by
Senior Lecturer of the Department of Information and Communication
Technologies, Tastanbekova Bayan Omirzakhovna with the participation of the
students of group ST-25-3r2 and faculty members of the department.The primary
objective of the event was to promote the principles of a Zero Waste
lifestyle among students, enhance environmental awareness, and demonstrate
effective methods for reducing waste generation in everyday life.During the
session, participants discussed the fact that plastic waste may take
approximately 400–500 years to decompose in nature and examined the harmful
effects of microplastics on human health. As an effective approach to
addressing this global environmental issue, students presented the
internationally recognized 3R principle (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle).
