Editorial ethics

The editorial board of the International Conference “Industrial Technologies and Engineering” adheres to the traditional ethical principles of scholarly periodicals and the principles set forth in the “Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications”, developed and approved by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Compliance with these principles is mandatory for all participants in the publication process.

Principles of Professional Ethics for Publishers and Editors

The publisher (M. Auezov South Kazakhstan Research University) and the editorial board of the Conference Proceedings are responsible for the publication of copyrighted materials and adhere to the following fundamental ethical principles.

The Editor shall make an impartial decision on the publication of a manuscript based on the accuracy of the data presented and the scientific significance of the work under consideration.

The Editor may consult with other editors or experts when making a decision regarding the publication of an article.

The Editor shall evaluate the intellectual content of manuscripts regardless of the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, origin, nationality, social status, or political affiliation.

Business interests or political considerations shall not influence decisions regarding the publication of materials.

Unpublished data from manuscripts submitted for consideration shall not be used for personal purposes or disclosed to third parties without the author’s prior written consent. Information obtained during the editorial process shall remain confidential.

The Editor shall not accept a manuscript for publication if there are sufficient grounds to consider it plagiarized.

The Editor and Publisher shall not leave complaints concerning the review of manuscripts or published materials unanswered and, in the event of a dispute, shall take all necessary measures to resolve the issue.

Ethical Principles for Reviewers

A reviewer provides scientific expertise on authors’ materials, and all reviewing activities must be conducted objectively and impartially. Reviewers shall adhere to the following principles.

A manuscript submitted for review shall be treated as a confidential document and may not be submitted for review or discussion to third parties who are not authorized by the Publisher.

The Reviewer shall provide an objective and well-reasoned assessment of the research results. Personal criticism of the author is unacceptable.

Unpublished data contained in manuscripts submitted for consideration shall not be used by the Reviewer for personal purposes.

A Reviewer who believes that they do not have sufficient expertise to evaluate a manuscript or cannot provide an objective assessment, for example, due to a conflict of interest with the author or the author’s organization, shall notify the Editor and request to be excluded from the review process for that manuscript.

Principles to Be Followed by Authors of Scientific Publications

The author (or group of authors) acknowledges primary responsibility for the originality and reliability of the research results and shall adhere to the following principles.

Authors shall provide accurate and reliable research results. Deliberately false or fraudulent statements are unacceptable.

Authors shall ensure that the research results presented in the submitted manuscript are entirely original. Borrowed passages or statements must be properly cited, with the author and source clearly indicated. Excessive borrowing and plagiarism in any form are unethical and unacceptable.

The contributions of all individuals who have in any way influenced the course of the research should be properly acknowledged. In particular, the article should contain references to works that have contributed significantly to the research.

Authors shall avoid duplicate publication. The cover letter should state that the work is being submitted for publication for the first time. If individual elements of the manuscript have been published previously, the authors must cite the earlier work and clearly indicate the differences between the new and previous publications.

Simultaneous submission of the same manuscript to multiple journals or publications is unethical.

The list of co-authors must include all individuals who have made a significant contribution to the research. Listing individuals who did not participate in the research as co-authors is unacceptable.

All co-authors must confirm their consent to publication, either by signing a license agreement or the manuscript itself.

The Editorial Board shall not be liable to third parties for any violation by the author of these guarantees.

If authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their article during the review process or after publication, they must promptly notify the Editorial Board.

Conflict of Interest

To prevent violations of publication ethics, conflicts of interest involving all parties participating in the manuscript publication process should be avoided. A conflict of interest arises when an author, reviewer, or member of the Editorial Board has financial, academic, or personal relationships that may influence their actions or decisions. The author agrees to resolve any claims independently and at their own expense.

If a situation involving a violation of publication ethics arises on the part of any participant in the editorial and publishing process, an investigation must be conducted and a public explanation of the conflict of interest must be provided.

If material containing significant inaccuracies has been published, it must be corrected in a form accessible to readers and indexing systems.
