AGREEMENT SIGNED WITH THAILAND’S WALAILAK UNIVERSITY

On April 21, 2025, a delegation from Walailak University (Thailand) visited M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University in Shymkent. The main purpose of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening academic cooperation between the two universities.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for implementing joint educational programs, including dual degree programs, as well as the development of academic mobility for students and faculty members. Particular attention was given to the potential for conducting joint scientific research and exchanging scientific data.
This visit marked a continuation of Walailak University’s efforts to expand international cooperation in Central Asia. Earlier, in April 2024, representatives of the university had already visited Kazakhstan to establish partnerships with the country’s leading higher education institutions, including Abylai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages and Almaty Management University.
The signing of the MoU between Walailak University and M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University opens new opportunities for students and faculty of both universities, promoting the development of the international educational space and strengthening scientific ties between Thailand and Kazakhstan.
