Khaidar Tasibekov

Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor

Khaidar Tasibekov was born in 1978 in Almaty.

From 1996 to 2001, he studied at the Faculty of Chemistry of Al-Farabi Kazakh State National University, majoring in “Basic Processes of Chemical Production and Chemical Cybernetics”, and qualified as a chemical engineer. From 2003 to 2006, he successfully defended his candidate’s dissertation in the specialty 03.00.16 – Ecology (Chemical Sciences) and was awarded the degree of Candidate of Chemical Sciences. From 2006 to 2008, he studied Economics at the Kazakhstan University of Engineering and Economics, earning a bachelor’s degree. In 2011, by decision of the Committee for Control in Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, he was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor. In 2022, he was elected an Academician of the National Academy of Natural Sciences of Kazakhstan and in 2025, an Academician of the National Engineering Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Professional Experience

He began his professional career at Al-Farabi Kazakh State National University, where he worked for many years.

From 2001 to 2003, he worked as a trainee researcher at the Department of Analytical Chemistry and Chemistry of Rare Elements;

From 2003 to 2006, he was a postgraduate student at the university;

From 2003 to 2007, he worked as a research fellow at the subsidiary state enterprise “Center for Physicochemical Research and Analysis Methods”;

From 2006 to 2010, he served as a senior lecturer at the Department of Analytical Chemistry and Chemistry of Rare Elements, Faculty of Chemistry;

From 2007 to 2010, he worked as a senior research fellow at the Center for Physicochemical Research and Analysis Methods;

From 2011 to 2014, he served as a leading research fellow at the Center for Physicochemical Research and Analysis Methods;

From 2014 to 2020, he was a chief research fellow at the Center for Physicochemical Research and Analysis Methods;

In 2010, he served as Deputy Dean for Research of the Faculty of Chemistry;

From 2010 to 2014, he was Director of the Department of Science and Innovation;

From 2014 to 2018, he headed the Department of Analytical and Colloid Chemistry and Technology of Rare Elements at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology;

From 2018 to 2021, he served as Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology;

From 2021 to 2022, he was a Member of the Management Board and Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University;

From 2022 to 2023, he served as a Member of the Management Board and Vice-President of the National Center for State Scientific and Technical Expertise JSC;

From 2023 to 2026, he served as Chairman of the Management Board and Director General of the A. Bekturov Institute of Chemical Sciences JSC.

In October 2026, he was appointed Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan Research University.

Scientific Publications and Achievements

He is the author of more than 120 scientific publications, including over 20 research articles published in scientific journals indexed in the international Scopus and Web of Science databases. More than 80 scientific articles and conference papers have been published in scientific journals, specialized industry publications and proceedings of national and international scientific conferences and symposia. He has published two textbooks, two methodological guides and one monograph. He is the holder of 10 patents of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Under his supervision, one Candidate of Sciences dissertation in Ecology (Chemical Sciences), specialty 03.00.16, was successfully defended.

Awards and Honors

Laureate of the “Ecology and Space” Award of the Russian Federal Space Agency;

Laureate of the D. Kunaev Prize, awarded by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for outstanding achievements in technical and natural sciences;

Recipient of the State Scientific Scholarship for Young Scientists of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

Laureate of the Science and Technology Award of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Foundation;

Awarded the “For Meritorious Service” Medal for his significant contribution to the development of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
