In accordance with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan's directives, the “Reading University” project was launched in September 2025 in Shymkent as a pilot project under the “Reading Nation” initiative. This project is  aimed at building a reading culture among students and increasing their interest in books. During this period, students at M. Auezov SKU achieved exceptional results in the "Reading Nation" project. Over 2,000 students took part in the initiative, collectively reading more than 15,000 books – a testament to their strong commitment to spiritual and intellectual growth.

The most active students at M. Auezov SKU, including members of the 'Aqiqat' debate club who achieved the best results in the 'Reading Nation' project, were honoured with special awards presented by the Mayor of Shymkent, Gabit Syzdykbekov.
