Auezov University holds a farewell ceremony for Rector Darkhan Ahmed-Zaki

Today, an extraordinary meeting of the Academic Council was held under the chairmanship of Darkhan Ahmed-Zaki, the university's rector and chairman of the board. During the session, the university's digital transformation strategy was presented alongside a list of candidates nominated for the President of Kazakhstan Scholarship. Both proposals were unanimously approved.
Taking the floor, Darkhan Ahmed-Zaki announced that he had been offered a new, highly responsible position. He expressed his sincere gratitude to all his colleagues for their collaborative efforts and invaluable contributions to the development of the educational institution.
The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, joined the meeting via videoconference. He praised the university's recent achievements and recognised Darkhan Zhumakanovich's contributions to advancing education and science, and to raising the university's international profile. Furthermore, the minister congratulated D. Ahmed-Zaki on being awarded the prestigious "For Merits in the Development of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan" breastplate. Gulzat Kobenova, Vice-Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, officially presented the award in a ceremony.
Under Darkhan Zhumakanovich's leadership, the university successfully implemented large-scale projects and vital initiatives. The quality of education reached new heights, and the pace of scientific research accelerated considerably. International collaboration expanded, and the university's material and technical infrastructure was substantially modernised.
During this period, systematic work was carried out to establish a branch of the University of Arizona, one of the world's most prestigious institutions, including laying the foundation capsule for the project. Partnerships with leading Chinese universities were also expanded, opening up new opportunities for international academic collaboration.
During the meeting, members of the university's faculty and teaching staff praised D. Ahmed-Zaki's professional expertise, innovative initiatives and unwavering commitment to the university. They wished him continued success and outstanding achievements in his new role.
