Auezov University Strengthens Cooperation with Xi’an Polytechnic University in the Fields of Design and Engineering

On May 21, 2026, a delegation of M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University headed by Chairman of the Board - Rector Darkhan Akhmed-Zaki paid an official visit to Xi’an Polytechnic University within the framework of developing international academic and scientific cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the People’s Republic of China.
It should be noted that earlier, in April 2026, during the China International Education Exhibition Tour 2026 held in Beijing, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the two universities, marking an important step toward strengthening bilateral partnership.
As part of the visit, an official meeting was held with the President of Xi’an Polytechnic University and the university administration. During the meeting, the parties discussed перспективные направления сотрудничества in the fields of education, science, and international academic integration.
Special attention during the negotiations was given to educational programs in design, fashion industry, apparel design, industrial design, and other modern creative disciplines.
The delegation was introduced to the potential of the School of Apparel and Art Design, which offers programs in Apparel Design and Engineering, Industrial Design, Design Studies, and Apparel and Fashion Design.
In addition, the Chinese side presented the university’s modern laboratories, research areas, and international projects, including initiatives in artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing, new materials, and digital technologies.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed opportunities for developing academic mobility for students and faculty members, implementing joint educational programs, conducting collaborative research, and establishing double degree programs in design, arts, engineering, and information technologies.
Particular attention was also paid to the alignment of curricula and the development of joint international educational trajectories aimed at training highly qualified specialists for the modern creative and industrial sectors.
Xi’an Polytechnic University is one of China’s leading multidisciplinary universities actively developing international cooperation and collaborating with more than 80 foreign universities and research organizations worldwide.
Following the visit, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening partnership, expanding academic exchange, and implementing joint educational and scientific initiatives between Kazakhstan and China.
