“World Election Day” meeting was held at M. Auezov University

The event was held at the South Kazakhstan Research University, named after M. Auezov, and was organised in collaboration with the Territorial Election Commission of the city of Shymkent.
Aim of the meeting was to encourage young and future voters to participate in the electoral process, develop electoral culture and expand knowledge of the electoral system, and cultivate a responsible attitude towards voting. Members of the 'Young Voters' Club' in Shymkent and active students participated in the event.
During the meeting, Kairbek Kunanbayev, the Chairman of the Territorial Election Commission of the city of Shymkent, noted that various informational and awareness-raising events are held annually in the city as part of World Election Day, including meetings, round tables, and open house days. He emphasised that this year's events are implemented in line with the strategic priorities of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, based on the principles of the rule of law, independence, openness, inclusiveness, professionalism and collegiality.
Talgat Alikulov, a member of the Territorial Election Commission of the city of Shymkent, highlighted the significance of the upcoming referendum on constitutional reform, emphasising that active citizen participation in the electoral process is crucial for the country's future.
