“Year of Vocational Professions”: College students take part in intellectual competition

M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University recently hosted the final round of Ziyatker-2025, an intellectual competition held as part of the “Year of Vocational Professions”. The event brought together 18 teams of students from vocational and technical colleges across Shymkent, including “Avtomekhanik”, “Algyrlar”, “Erudit”, “Zhas Qazaq”, “Shanyraq”, “GEK Zhastary”, “Cambridge”, “Sparky”, “Aibat” and “Bestugyr”.
Gulzhan Saduaqasova, the university’s Vice-Principal for Academic Affairs, welcomed the participants at the opening ceremony and emphasised that the competition aims not only to test knowledge, but also to encourage critical thinking, analytical skills, curiosity and networking.
By the end of the tournament, the 'Infinity' team from the College of Food Industry and Service had taken first place, while the 'Aibat' team from the Industrial and Technical College took the second.
During the closing ceremony, Sadibek Beisenbaev, the Vice-Rector for Public Relations and Culture and a member of the university board, thanked all the participants, congratulated the winners and their mentors, and presented awards and certificates of appreciation.
