Zholdas A. Buribayev
Zholdas Alladinovich Buribayev was born on April 29, 1987.
In 2004, he graduated from Secondary School № 6 in Shengeldy village and enrolled at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, majoring in Computer Science. In 2008, he successfully completed his bachelor's degree in Computer Science. He continued his studies at the same university and, in 2010, earned a Master of Science degree in Computer Science.
He began his professional career in 2009 as a Chief Specialist at the Almaty Branch of JSC Nurbank. He subsequently worked as a Chief Software Engineer at JSC Nurbank, a Leading Specialist at SB JSC Sberbank of Russia, and a Chief Specialist at JSC Eurasian Bank. During his years in the banking sector, he gained extensive experience in information technologies, software development, and business process automation.
In 2016, he enrolled in the PhD program at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, specializing in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Control. In 2020, he successfully defended his doctoral dissertation and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
Since September 2017, he has been a faculty member at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In 2020, he was promoted to the position of Senior Lecturer. From September 2021 to May 2023, he served as Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology for Research, Innovation, and International Affairs. From May to December 2023, he served as Director of the Department of Science and Innovation at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
From 2024 to 2025, he completed a research internship at Dresden University of Technology in Germany. From September 2025 to May 2026, he served as Head of the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Laboratory at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
In 2022, he was awarded the prestigious "Best University Teacher" title by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2026, he was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor in the field of Computer Science.
From 2017 to 2020, he participated as a Junior Research Fellow on the research project "Development of Verbal Interactive Robots Based on Modern Speech and Mobile Technologies."
From 2020 to 2022, he worked as a Research Fellow on the project "Development of Intelligent Information Technologies Based on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition with the Construction of a Mobile Robot for Agricultural Field Maintenance."
Since 2024, he has been serving as a Senior Research Fellow and Principal Investigator of the research project "Personalized Prediction of Kidney Graft Survival in Kidney Transplant Recipients Prior to Transplantation Using Machine Learning Methods."
He was appointed Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University in June 2026.
