The scientific directions of the work of the department are connected withsustainable development and green technologies of the southern region of Kazakhstan.According to the strategic plan for 2020-2025, research work for 2020 completed initiative studies of the final stage on the following state budget topic R&D B-16-04-07:Sustainable development and green technologies of the southern region of Kazakhstan(Protocol No. 1 of the department "Ecology" dated 03.12.2020) Leaders: d.b.s. Isaeva A., Ph.D., Professor Isaeva R.A., Ph.D.The department has 1 doctor of sciences: Doctor of Medical Sciences, Isaeva A.U., 4 professors, 8 candidates of sciences. There are 3 research projects funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the department. During the last academic year, the teaching staff of the department published 108 scientific papers, including 6 articles in a journal with a high impact factor in the Thomson and Scopus database, and also participated in more than 40 international and republican conferences. Research work at the Department of Ecology is carried out in accordance with the approved plans of the University. Published 5 monographs and more than 200 scientific and methodical works. Over the past 5 years, teachers of the department have received 21 patents and certificates for inventions.

The results of scientific research have been successfully implemented at the department. Acts of implementation in the educational process-15, in production-21. As part of the research work of the department, internships are carried out abroad. The undergraduates of the department were trained at St. Petersburg State University, Tashkent Technological Institute and Bishkek State Technical Institute.

The final stage of R&D on GB according tothe strategic plan of research work of the Higher School of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology within the framework of the state order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan was completed in full.

Topics of research carried out on grants

The National Conservation Initiative Corporate Foundation, together with the Office of Sustainability of AEO Nazarbayev University, is implementing the Sustainability Living Lab program sponsored by Chevron Munaigas Inc. and aimed at introducing research and innovation projects on sustainable development on campus by attracting students, professors and staff university (the project budget should not exceed 800 thousand tenge, including taxes and other payments to the budget). This year Yuku them. M. Auezov participated in this competition for the first time, 6 projects were submitted, two of them were won:

"Green technology - Methods for obtaining electricity from living plants" - a project prepared by a student of the Department of Ecology of the KhT-18-4k2 group Alseit Aida, the head of the doctoral student of the Department of Ecology Syzdykova Marzhan.
"Eco-gazebo" - a project prepared by a student of the Department of Ecology of the KhT-19-4a group Zholdas Erasyl, leader Dzhakipbekova N. O.

The department "Ecology" is working on the state budget topic; B-11-04-07 "New environmentally friendly technologies and monitoring in transport and production."

Student research work of the department "Ecology"

The research work of students of the department "Ecology" is carried out under the guidance of the teaching staff of the department in accordance with the plan of research work. The scientific circle "Ecos" works at the department. In this circle, the results of more than 40 scientific papers are discussed annually, the best reports are presented at conferences of faculties and universities and are awarded with diplomas. Students take an active part in scientific conferences in the near and far abroad. During the last academic year, more than 30 scientific papers were published in the form of articles. Student research is an important part of higher education and is an effective way to improve the quality of education. The research work of students should be aimed at developing research skills and developing creative initiatives at the researcher level,

The main tasks of NIRS are:

International project

Chairman of the Board-Rector of SKU M. Auezova Dariya Perneshovna Kozhamzharova signed the contract of the international project GE2506 "Bactericidal and zeolite filters for purification and disinfection of drinking water", the participants of which are such countries as Georgia, Armenia and Kazakhstan, implementation years -2022-2024. The grant is provided by the ISTC, Funding-Japan. The project manager is Dzhakipbekova N.O, the project participants are associate professors and teachers of the departments "Ecology", "Chemistry", "Oil refining and petrochemistry". The agreement was also signed by the rector of the Tbilisi State University Giorgi Sharvashidze, the rector of the Armenian National Agrarian University Vardan Urutyan. The project collaborators are such countries as the USA, Japan, Sweden, Australia, Greece, Bulgaria. We wish the participants of the project fruitful work!
