ICITE 2026: a Hackathon on industrial development was held at Auezov University

Mukhtar Auezov South Kazakhstan Research University hosted a Hackathon organized as part of the 13th International Conference “Industrial Technologies and Engineering” (ICITE 2026).
The event was held at the request of the Shymkent City Akimat and focused on developing innovative solutions to pressing regional challenges. The key areas included the development of effective agrochemicals, the introduction of carbon-based technologies for the cultivation of agricultural land, the reduction of CO and CO₂ emissions from cement production, the optimization of expanded clay production technology, and the development of innovative systems for improving the city’s air quality.
As part of the Hackathon, a round-table discussion was held with the participation of researchers from higher education institutions and research institutes of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as representatives of industrial enterprises. The participants discussed five key challenges and developed scientific and practical recommendations for addressing them.
Particular attention was paid to the introduction of modern technologies, the digitalization of production processes, industrial automation, and the application of advanced engineering solutions. The Hackathon provided an effective platform for exchanging scientific knowledge, practical experience, and innovative ideas, while also strengthening cooperation between the university, public authorities, and industrial enterprises.
At the conclusion of the event, the participants presented proposals and projects intended for practical application and further implementation. The Hackathon contributed to the advancement of innovative initiatives, the development of young researchers’ potential, and the creation of a foundation for new research and industrial projects.
