Auezov University staff and students listen to the President’s state of the nation Address

Today the faculty staff and students of Auezov University watched the live broadcast of the President of Kazakhstan’s Address to the People of Kazakhstan.
Special viewing areas were set up at several locations across the university, allowing the university community to follow the important address outlining the country’s key development priorities.
This year’s Address is entitled "Kazakhstan’s Key Priorities at a New Historical Stage".
In his speech the President outlined the main directions of the country’s economic and social development and identified the key tasks for the coming period. He highlighted major economic indicators and issued a number of specific instructions to the Government and the relevant state authorities.
The Address placed particular emphasis on the future of the younger generation. The President stressed that if we are to ensure a prosperous future for the country, concrete and decisive steps must be taken today. The Head of State highlighted the importance of leaving future generations not merely plans and concepts, but a Kazakhstan with a strong economy, advanced high technologies, a solid foundation in education and science, the rule of law, a strong spirit of innovation and global competitiveness.
The issues raised by the President are also of particular importance to the faculty and students of Auezov University. Developing education and science, mastering new technologies and nurturing a competitive younger generation are among the key priorities facing the higher education sector.
