The tangible outcomes of the strategic partnership and humanitarian cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are reflected in the industrial city of Chirchik, located near Tashkent.
Yeraly Tugzhanov, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Uzbekistan, paid a working visit to the Chirchik Branch of M. Auezov South Kazakhstan Research University. The distinguished guest was welcomed by Mukhtar Tolegen, Chairman of the Board and Rector of the University, together with members of the academic staff. During the visit, the Ambassador toured the modern campus facilities and familiarized himself with the organization of the educational process.
During a meeting with students, Rector Mukhtar Tolegen spoke with particular warmth and respect about Ambassador Yeraly Tugzhanov, noting that he had been privileged to study under his guidance and regarded him as one of his mentors.
In turn, the Ambassador highly commended the activities of the University’s branch and addressed the students with an inspiring message:
“If you pursue knowledge, engage in serious research and continuously strive for personal and professional growth, you too may one day become university rectors. In today’s competitive environment, success is impossible without education. This international project is a direct result of the friendship between our countries and the forward-looking policies of our Heads of State,” Ambassador Yeraly Tugzhanov emphasized, encouraging young people to pursue their goals with determination and commitment.
Today, the Chirchik Branch offers 19 academic programs and provides education to more than 800 students. Particular emphasis is placed on training specialists in technical and engineering fields to meet the demands of the modern labor market.
The branch has successfully implemented a dual education system, enabling students to combine theoretical studies with practical training at enterprises within a major chemical and industrial technology park. During their practical training, students receive a regular monthly salary.
Established under the framework of the interstate Roadmap, the Chirchik Branch serves as a practical example of the implementation of bilateral agreements between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. It represents a new model of joint human capital development, strengthening academic ties and preparing highly qualified professionals to contribute to the economies of both countries.
