Law and order: international students learn about migration legislation

Auezov University is one of the higher education institutions in Kazakhstan with a large number of international students. Currently 2341 international students are studying at the university. Therefore it is important for them to know the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, understand their rights and responsibilities and comply with the established requirements.
For this purpose the university held a meeting aimed at explaining the migration legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the rules for staying in the country to international students.
The event organized as part of the “Law and Order” principle was attended by Vice-Rector for Social and Educational Affairs of the University Gani Bessbayev, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Gulnara Karbozova, faculty members and students as well as representatives of the Migration Service Department of the Shymkent City Police Department.
During the meeting specialists explained the rules for foreign citizens staying in Kazakhstan, their rights and responsibilities, the timely processing of necessary documents and compliance with migration requirements. Director of the Department for Student Affairs Aidarbek Bolysbek spoke about academic integrity, the educational process and examination requirements.
International students shared their suggestions on extending the validity period of fingerprint registration, medical insurance and other relevant issues and asked the specialists questions of interest to them.
