Tourism students take third place at TOURISM NEXT 2026

Students of the Tourism educational programme at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan Research University took third place in the student tourism project competition TOURISM NEXT REGIONAL CHALLENGE 2026.
The competition was held on September 25, 2026, in Astana at the Kazakh National University of Sports. Teams representing 18 higher education institutions from across Kazakhstan took part in the competition. Following the competition, the team from our university took third place among the 18 participating universities.
The event was held as part of TOURISM NEXT 2026 under the theme "New horizons of tourism: youth, science, innovation and digital transformation."
The competition was attended by second- and third year students of the Tourism educational programme. The university team presented a tourism project, demonstrating their knowledge, creative approach, marketing mindset and practical skills in the tourism sector.

As part of the competition participants developed tourism products, presented ideas for the development and promotion of tourist destinations, and completed practical tasks aimed at finding creative and innovative solutions.
The team was led by Ketpen Zh.M. and Orymbasar Zh.N., senior lecturers and Master’s degree holders of the Department of International Tourism and Service.
Participation in TOURISM NEXT 2026 gave the students an opportunity to present their projects, gain additional professional experience, exchange knowledge and experience with representatives of other universities, and demonstrate their potential as future professionals in the tourism industry.
We congratulate the students and their team leaders on their strong result - third place among 18 participating universities! We wish them further professional achievements, exciting projects and new victories!
