- Hits: 7
A book is a source of knowledge, a guiding light for thought and a spiritual treasure that helps shape a person.
At a M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University a contest to identify the best readers among students and learners is being organized on the initiative of the University Rector as part of the “Reading University” project.
The goal of the contest is to encourage young people’s interest in books, promote a culture of reading and broaden learners horizons. It also seeks to support the younger generation who are committed to continuous learning and self-development and have made literature an integral part of their lives.
The words of the prominent Kazakh writer Abish Kekilbayev, “Books made people human and libraries made humanity” highlight the important role of books in people’s lives and in the development of society.
Those who make friends with books lay a strong foundation for their future. Reading broadens a person’s horizons, allows them to look at the world from different perspectives, analyse new ideas, and develop their own views.
The contest will be held across three levels of education: bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral studies.
The total prize fund is 3 000 000 tenge.
This contest is aimed not only at increasing learners’ interest in books, but also at taking the culture of reading at the university to a new level.
A reading generation is the intellectual capital of a country. Young people who strive for knowledge, keep learning and think critically can contribute to the development of society.
Therefore we invite all learners to take an active part in the contest!
Read books. Expand your knowledge. Become the Best Reader!
