Seismic Training Exercise Conducted at the University

A comprehensive seismic training exercise "Actions in the Event of Earthquakes and Fires" was organised at M. Auezov SKU.
The event was organised in accordance with the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan 'On Civil Protection' and Order No. 494 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, dated 2 July 2020. The primary objectives were to enhance readiness for emergency actions, pre-identify evacuation routes and safe zones, reinforce safety protocols and practise the evacuation plan.
A special headquarters was established during the drill, headed by Nurlan Batyrbayev, Director of the Department of Infrastructure Development, Candidate of Legal Sciences and Professor; and Nurlybay Madiyarov, Dean of the Higher School of Natural Sciences and Pedagogy, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences and Associate Professor.
As soon as the alarm sounded, faculty members and students inside the building were evacuated promptly in accordance with established procedures and assembled in full at the designated safe zone — the square in front of the building. The evacuation process was carried out in an organised manner within the set timeframe.
Before concluding the drill, personnel from Fire Station No. 5 of the Turan District Emergency Situations Department and Brigade No. 38 of the Emergency Medical Services Station performed their duties in accordance with the exercise scenario. Specifically, specialists led by Z. Sailau, Lieutenant of Civil Protection, and A. Tokkuliyeva, Doctor, conducted explanatory briefings on emergency response procedures.
At the end of the event, the responsible officials noted the high level of organisation of the training exercise and gave positive feedback on the participants' preparedness. Such drills help to build a safety culture among students and staff, while also strengthening their ability to respond correctly and promptly in emergency situations.
