M.Auezov South Kazakhstan University Strengthens International Cooperation: Joint Center Opened in China within the Framework of the Belt and Road Initiative
M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University continues to consistently expand cooperation with leading universities of the People’s Republic of China, strengthening partnerships in education, science, academic mobility, and international collaboration.
An important milestone in the development of Kazakhstan-China cooperation was the opening of the Joint Kazakhstan-China Center for the Development of Business Environment Services within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. The Center was established with the participation of M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University, Northwest University of Political Science and Law, and JSC “Management Company of the Ontustik Special Economic Zone”.
As a continuation of this initiative, an official visit of the university delegation to Northwest University of Political Science and Law in Xi’an was held.
During the visit, an official signing ceremony of documents on the establishment of the Center took place, along with meetings with the university leadership, participation in the international conference “Silk Road 2026”, and the international scientific seminar “China-Central Asia: Legal Regulation with Foreign Elements and Regional Coordinated Development”.
One of the key events was the opening of the Kazakhstan-China Office of the Center in Xi’an, aimed at developing an international platform for cooperation in the fields of education, science, international law, international business support, and interregional collaboration between Kazakhstan and China.
During the negotiations, the parties reached agreements on the implementation of joint educational programs and double degree programs, the development of academic mobility for students and faculty members, the conduct of joint scientific research, and the establishment of international research platforms.
Special attention was given to the training of internationally qualified specialists in the fields of international law, cross-border cooperation, international regulation, and business support.
The participation of JSC “Management Company of the Ontustik Special Economic Zone” added a practical dimension to the cooperation by bringing together the academic community and the real sector of the economy to support investment interaction and entrepreneurial initiatives within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
The visit was given special symbolic significance through the ceremony of planting the China-Kazakhstan Tree of Legal Friendship, which became a symbol of strengthening long-term partnership and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.
As part of the further development of humanitarian cooperation, M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University reached an agreement to establish a cultural and educational space named after Mukhtar Auezov at Northwest University of Political Science and Law.
This initiative is aimed at promoting the cultural and intellectual heritage of the great Kazakh writer and thinker Mukhtar Auezov, developing humanitarian dialogue, and strengthening academic and youth exchanges between Kazakhstan and China.
Today, M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University actively develops cooperation with a number of leading universities of the People’s Republic of China, implementing academic mobility programs, joint scientific projects, and double degree programs, thereby contributing to the strengthening of international educational and scientific cooperation between Kazakhstan and China.
