National Craft Exhibition "Biz Onerli Qyzdarmyz" Held at Auezov University

"The Tree of Life", "Bird's Wings", "Tulip" and "The Silk Road" are the titles of artworks that embody the spiritual roots and rich colours of the Kazakh national identity. M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University hosted the grand opening of the creative exhibition "Biz Onerli Qyzdarmyз", showcasing these unique pieces.
The exhibition features works of art by Gulnar Zholdasbekova, a member of the Artisans Union of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Master's degree holder, senior lecturer in the Department of Fine Arts and Design, and true ambassador of national art, alongside pieces created by her students. Through this exhibition, the master artist presented the deep roots and refined aesthetics of Kazakh applied arts to the public.
Visitors are truly captivated at first glance by the patterns of traditional syrmak felt rugs, delicate embroidery, and the harmony of tapestries and wall panels.
During the opening ceremony, Sadybek Beisenbayev, the university’s vice-rector for public relations and culture, highlighted the profound philosophical meaning and immense hard work behind each piece created by the artist. Medeubek Tanirbergenov, Dean of the Faculty of Culture and Art, said that craftsmanship cultivates patience, refined taste and artistic vision, and he wished the artist endless creative inspiration and great success.
Zholdasbekova’s colleagues, mentors and students proudly shared stories of her artistic journey, noting that her works are highly valued not only in Kazakhstan, but far beyond its borders.
One of the event's highlights was the interactive workshop zone located inside the exhibition hall. As part of their practical course titled 'Carpet Making and Tapestry Weaving', second-year students from the department demonstrated the process of weaving a piled carpet before the audience's eyes.
The exhibition will remain open to all art lovers for the next two weeks.
