A METHODOLOGICAL SEMINAR BEGINS IN SHYMKENT AS PART OF THE “MY PROFESSION-MY FUTURE” PROJECT

Today a two day methodological seminar titled “From the region map of workface needs to educational solutions” began at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University. The event is being held as part of the “My Profession- My Future” project of the National Center for Higher Education Development under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The main goal of the seminar is to identify the professions and competencies needed in the region, taking into account changes in the labor market, improve the personnel training system, and modernize educational programs in line with the actual needs of employers.
The seminar brought together representatives of the National Center for Higher Education Development, the Akimat of Shymkent, and the city’s Department of Education, as well as top management of higher and postgraduate education institutions, heads of structural divisions and specialized centers, leaders and developers of educational programs, and representatives of colleges, employers, industry associations, and regional organizations to exchange views on these issues.
Opening the event, Mukhtar Tolegen, Chairman of the Board - Rector of M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University emphasized that training highly qualified specialists is a key priority for the university. He noted that the initiative will help young people understand new trends in the labor market and identify fields that are in demand.
Oljas Sakenov, Deputy Director of the National Center for Higher Education Development, delivered an informative presentation titled “The My Profession-My Future Project: Foresight of Professions and Competencies as a Tool for Advanced Personnel Training.”
Marina Skiba, Head of the Office of the “My Profession-My Future” Project, presented the key areas for updating educational programs based on regional maps. Meanwhile, Bakhytkul Abdizhapparova, Head of the Accreditation Department at M. Auezov SKU, highlighted Shymkent’s personnel priorities and the university’s work in this area.
The practical part of the seminar included a panel discussion and group work.
The foresight approaches used within the project make it possible to anticipate future labor market demands and develop educational content accordingly.
M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University will continue its systematic efforts to train highly qualified specialists needed for the socio-economic development of the region, improve educational programs, and strengthen cooperation with the labor market.
