Auezov University Hosted the "Financial Security – The Choice of Youth" Forum

The forum brought together students, university faculty and financial sector experts.
At the opening of the event, the Vice-Rector for Social and Educational Work delivered welcoming remarks on behalf of the University Rector. He emphasised that managing personal finances, ensuring financial security, preventing online fraud and using financial instruments properly have become critical issues in today’s world. He also noted that raising financial literacy among young people is essential in today's world.
Forum speakers delivered keynote speeches and engaged in an active exchange of views with the audience:
- Akim – Chief Expert at the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the Regulation and Development of the Financial Market.
- Khalykbergen – Rector of Miras University;
- Sauranbaev – representative of 'OnlineKazFinance';
- Yesteussizova – Microfinance Ombudsman of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- Police Lieutenant Colonel Sh. Zhaylaubek – Head of the Cybercrime Prevention Department at the Shymkent City Police Department.
- * A. Turarova – Financial Expert of the 'Qaryzsyz Qogham' (Society Without Debt) project by the 'Amanat' Party for the city of Shymkent.
During the meeting, students learned how to protect themselves against phishing, droppering, internet scams and debt traps, as well as how to manage their personal finances effectively. Using real-world examples, the experts explained key methods for ensuring financial safety and introduced participants to the resources available on the fingramota.kz platform.
In the weeks leading up to the forum, a student video competition on financial literacy was held. Participants posted their video submissions on social media to promote awareness of financial security. The winners were announced at the forum itself and awarded valuable prizes.
Competition winners:
- 1st place – Saya Ainabek, a student in group EF-23-7k at the Higher School of Management and Business;
- 2nd place – Aliya Temurali, a student in group MO-23-12r at the Faculty of Culture and Art;
- 3rd place: Danial Yeshankul and Dinmukhammed Polat, students in group SM-23-5k14 at the Faculty of Architecture, Construction and Transport.
This informative and highly practical event made a strong impression on the participants and provided them with valuable knowledge and new insights. The forum concluded with a commemorative photo session.
