Final Meeting of the Academic Council for the 2025–2026 Academic Year

The final Academic Council meeting of the 2025–2026 academic year was held at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University and was chaired by the Acting Chairman of the Board and Rector, Gani Besbayev.
Before the meeting began, a ceremony was held to award badges and diplomas to university staff and students in recognition of their achievements in education and science. Additionally, the winners of the internal university scientific project competition 'Zhas Galym – 2026' were awarded research grants worth 3 million tenge.
The first report, based on the agenda, was delivered by the Director of the Department of Student Affairs, E. J. Torebek. He presented a comprehensive analysis of the spring examination session results for undergraduate and graduate students for the 2025–2026 academic year. He also outlined measures to improve teaching quality. Based on a comparative analysis with the previous academic year, recommendations were made to further enhance student achievement across faculties and higher schools.
The Director of the Strategic Development Department, S. Sh. Junusbekova, then presented a report entitled 'Evaluating the Performance of Higher Schools/Faculties and Departments in Accordance with KPIs for the 2025–2026 Academic Year'. She analysed the key quantitative and qualitative indicators of each structural unit in executing the university's strategic plan, paying special attention to risks and key issues.
Under the third item, Commission Chairman Zh. Aimenov reported on the implementation of measures agreed by the Academic Council in the second half of the 2025–26 academic year. The Director of the Department for Academic Affairs and Quality of the Educational Process, A. S. Naukenova, then raised the issue of approving the faculty's teaching workload and staffing schedule for the 2026–2027 academic year.
Moving on to the fifth item, the Acting Director of the Finance Department, A. K. Baitokhayeva, presented a report on the university's financial and economic activities for 2025, providing detailed figures on income and expenditure. The Executive Director of the 'Auezov University Endowment Fund', A. B. Mukhamedkhanova, then elaborated on the progress made and future plans to develop the endowment fund's activities.
The Academic Council also addressed important matters such as nominating faculty members for the academic titles of 'Associate Professor (Docent)' and 'Professor', recommending monographs, textbooks and teaching aids for publication, proposing faculty members for state awards, approving the responsibilities of the newly established dissertation council's permanent members and re-approving doctoral advisors.
