Our Students win at the interregional Hackathon

In the city of Turkestan, under the auspices of the Department of Economic Investigations and Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University, the interregional hackathon “Financial Security in the Era of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence” was held on February 25–26, 2026. A total of 142 teams, comprising around 400 participants, registered for the event.
Participants presented their projects across five key tracks. Students from the Department of Information Systems and Modeling at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University also took part in the hackathon and won prize-winning places.
In the first track, “AI Digital Trace — Identifying Illegal Sellers on the Telegram Platform,” student B.P. Khaitbayev (IP-22-3k3), together with S. Kazhybekkyzy and B.S. Narimanov (IP-23-3k3), secured third place and were awarded a prize of 300,000 tenge.
In the third track, “AI-Based Analysis of Public Procurement,” students S.I. Bondarev and K.G. Airapetyants (IP-22-3r) also achieved third place and received a prize of 300,000 tenge.
The Ministry of Artificial Intelligence is expected to announce a call for project submissions at the end of March, and both teams have earned the opportunity to participate in this upcoming initiative.
